Photos between Sudbury and Long Melford show River Stour flooded due to Storm Henk

Photos have shown Storm Henk’s impact in Suffolk as a river has overflown and flooded nearby roads.

The aerial shots were captured yesterday by Andy Rushworth and show the River Stour completely flooded between Sudbury and Long Melford.

The water meadows in Sudbury have been particularly impacted as the river almost reached The Mill Hotel in Walnut Tree Lane.

The views from Middleton Road and Ballingdon Hill also show other impacted areas in the area include Liston Mill, Rodbridge and Brundon Mill.

Many roads have been closed across Suffolk due to Storm Henk’s heavy rainfall.

More alerts are in place due to high river levels – but the recent yellow weather warning for Suffolk has now been lifted.
