Emergency road closures in Flowton, Lavenham, Needham Market and Beyton due to flooding





Emergency road closures remain in place in a number of neighbourhoods due to flooding following Storm Henk.

In a social media post, Suffolk Highways confirmed that Flowton Road, in Flowton; Lower Road, in Lavenham; the B1078 Coddenham Road, in Needham Market and Thurleston Road, in Beyton are closed.

A spokesman said: “Please plan ahead and leave additional time for your journey.”

The authority confirmed more than 100 trees were brought down as high winds battered Suffolk yesterday.

Meanwhile, hundreds of homes remain without power.

Some flood alerts and warnings from the Environment Agency remain in place today with run-off from rivers potentially affecting towns such as Stowmarket, Hadleigh, Needham Market, Bury St Edmunds and Thetford.
