Thetford parkrun welcomes eight Jurassic joggers to its 5km event

Reindeers were not the only animals surprising people in and around Thetford at the weekend as the town’s parkrun welcomed dinosaurs to its 5km route.

The 161 people who ran and walked the course on Saturday, with some coming from as far away as Dorset, Devon, Hampshire and Hertford, were joined by eight Jurassic joggers.

The octet roared around the Abbey Meadows course, bringing smiles to the rest of the participants on a cold and frosty morning.

Mel Furness, one of the 37 volunteers on the day, said on social media: “Brilliant fun marshalling at Thetford parkrun this morning.

“Never know what might turn up at parkrun, these guys were brilliant and completed course in their dinosaur outfits.”
