Ipswich Town reportedly close to signing Blackburn Rovers captain Lewis Travis on loan
Ipswich Town are reportedly close to completing the loan signing of Blackburn club captain Lewis Travis.
As reported by TWTD, the 26-year-old is expected to complete his move to Portman Road today.
The defensive midfielder has featured 20 times in the Sky Bet Championship for Rovers this season but only twice has he made the starting line-up in their last 10 matches.
Travis, who has also featured in defence for Rovers, has started 12 games this season.
Once on the books of Liverpool, Travis joined Blackburn’s youth set-up in 2014 and has spent the last decade at Ewood Park, making 224 appearances for the Lancashire outfit.
Reports claim that the deal is expected to be done in time so he can be in the squad that travels to AFC Wimbledon in the third round of the FA Cup tomorrow (12.30pm).
Travis is set to be the Tractor Boys’ second signing of the January transfer window, after Kieran McKenna bolstered his attacking ranks with the loan signing of winger Jeremy Sarmiento from Brighton.
