ROTARIANS COMPLETE GARDEN PROJECT AT RESIDENTIAL HOME

Residents of Jubilee Court home for the elderly in Stowupland now have a courtyard garden to enjoy, thanks to the efforts of members of the Gipping Valley Rotary Club.   Members of the club have spent several weekends working on the project this year, culminating recently in a party to celebrate the opening.   An anonymous patio area outside the residents’ lounge was transformed into an attractive fenced-off area with gravel beds, seating and copious amounts of planting in pots, and  an ugly  mechanical services area was screened off with wattle fencing.   The project was organised and co-ordinated by the Rotarians’ vice-president Joanne Cooper.   Mrs Cooper is pictured (rear left) with current club president Arnie Bennett (right) and a number of Jubilee Court residents and friends at the party held to celebrate the completion of the project.   Gipping Valley, one of the newest Rotary Clubs in East Anglia, is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its being granted its Rotary charter with a dinner on January 31 at the Cedars Hotel, Stowmarket.
