A day out on the canal |
|
Members of Gipping Valley Rotary Club,
plus partners and guests, enjoyed a day out on the Grand Union Canal in May
2009. A party of 35 people travelled by coach
to Cosgrove, near Milton Keynes, to board the MV Elizabeth of Glamis, a
restored canal longboat, for the two-hour trip along the canal to the historic
village of Stoke Bruerne, in Northamptonshire. There, after a leisurely lunch, there
was time to visit the National Waterways Board canal museum, before returning
by boat to Cosgrove. Despite the changeable weather, the
trip was voted a great success by all who went on it. |
